The Southern Colorado Press Club board presents the Damon Runyon Award for accomplishments and longtime contributions in the media.
Tracy Harmon is lucky enough to have been employed as a professional newspaper journalist for three decades.
She fell in love with reporting at the age of 16 when she started writing for The Tenderfoot Times at Salida High School. She studied journalism and got her sheepskin at Colorado State University in Fort Collins.
Tracy has written for The Mountain Mail in Salida and the Canon City Daily Record. The bulk of her career has been writing for The Pueblo Chieftain which she has done for the past 28 years, from the comfort of her home office in Canon City where she is usually wearing her bunny slippers while writing.
