Hope everyone is enjoying the first few days of 2017! That being said, Southern Colorado Press Club meetings are starting again!
Our next meeting topic is “Cannabusiness – How do all the pieces fit together?” There has been quite a lot of news coverage of the “social experiment” aspects of legalized cannabis in Colorado and the law enforcement responses to illicit grow operations, but not a lot of attention has been paid to the business activities that surround legal operations. SCPC has assembled a panel representing various interests to explore the permitting, resource needs, and agricultural operations involved in this growing industry (pun intended).
Panelists for the discussion will be: Shawn Honaker of Yeti Farms; Alan Ward – Division Manager, Water Resources, Pueblo Water; Joan Armstrong – Director of Planning and Development, Pueblo County.
When: Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 11:30 a.m. Pueblo City-County Health Department, 101 W. Ninth Street.
We are aware that the swearing in is also that day, so if you are attending that, you’ll be in the area, so come on over to our meeting!
Please RSVP by MONDAY, Jan. 9, so we can have an accurate head count for lunch.
Lunch costs $15 for members, $20 for nonmembers and $10 for students; funds support college scholarships.
